"The Western Sizzlin team is doing a great job," said Heather Rice, northeast Alabama director of the American Cancer Society."We've asked celebrity servers from around the county to help us out. We're getting a
really good response from the public."
Rice said the celebrity servers include: assistant district attorney Bob Johnston, Fort Payne Councilman Andrew Hairston, DeKalb County Commissioner Dewitt Jackson, Lowell Ray Barron, DeKalb Under Sheriff Ron Ogletree and DeKalb County Revenue Commissioner Martha Ogle, among others.

"We're hoping to pull in $2,500 or more today," Rice said.
The celebrity servers asked for donations in lieu of tips, and the regular Western Sizzlin servers donated their tips during the event to the Western Sizzlin Relay team.
"We want to raise all the money we can," Rice said."The more we raise, the closer I think we can get to finding a cure for cancer. It's something that touches everybody's life.Everyone has been affected by it."
In the search to find a cure for cancer, anyone can be a hero, Rice said. It's a belief that she takes to heart as she coordinates the Relay for Life fundraisers throughout the year.
"Teams are free to get as creative as they want in raising money," Rice said.
