Hazel Marie Rice

Hazel Marie Rice , 79 , passed away Saturday , May 6 , 2000 at a Mustang , Oklahoma health care facility after a period of failing health.She was born May 26 , 1920 in Henryetta , Oklahoma to Wayne and Johnnie Evans Steidley.She had lived most of her life in Corpus Christi , Texas where she had worked and ultimately retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator.She was a member of the SW Bell Pioneers.Hazel is preceded in death by her husband Inmon Bennett Rice , her son Norman Wayne Rice and her granddaughter Wanda Cook.She is survived by her children , Don ( Ruth ) Stanley of Austin , Sharon ( Dick ) Radeka of Mustang , Oklahoma , Sheila ( Jim ) Case of Fort Scott , Kansas and Alan ( Sylvia ) Rice of Corpus Christi ; stepdaughter , Joan Marten of Bakersfield , California ; ten grandchildren , Merrill , Gerald and Deanna Stanley , Tony and Trent Case , Steve , Curtis and Brian Paul , Crystal and Dustin Rice ; three great-grandchildren , Blake Murray , Sierra Paul and Collin Case.She was loved by not only her family but also a multitude of dear friends.Her only desire in life was for everyone to love each other and be happy.Visitation will be held from 4 : 00 PM until 8 : 00 PM. , Tuesday , May 9 , 2000 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors Everhart Chapel.Family will greet friends from 5 : 00 PM until 6 : 00 PM.The funeral services will be held at 10 : 00 AM. , Wednesday , May 10 , 2000 at Cage-Mills Everhart.Reverend Buddy Murphrey to officiate.Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
