Dan Ricedan.rice@mndeca.org State Vice President ofBusiness and Industry
Dan Rice is currently a senior at Apple Valley High School.He has been heavily involved in DECA since 2005, and is now serving as his chapter's president.Some of Dan's interests include hunting, snowboarding, boating, intramural athletics, and of course hanging out with friends.
Dan attended the International Career Development Conference last year in sunny Dallas, Texas.He presented his chapter's civic consciousness project and enjoyed the experience of national competition.Dan has competed in several events including: direct line sales, market plan, vehicles and petroleum marketing, entrepreneurship participating, civic consciousness, and the stock market game.Dan is organizing his chapter's entrepreneurship promotion project this year.The project will take place at the Central Regions Conference with keynote speaker 'Famous Dave'.
Dan has been a successful business owner for 4 years.He founded a lawn care and landscape business called 'The Turf Surgeons' with his partner in the summer of 2002.Dan has gained valuable experience in marketing from his business, and plans to continue working in the lawn care industry during the summers away from college.
Dan plans to continue his education at The Carlson School of Management, or St. Thomas University.He wants to major in entrepreneurship with a minor in marketing.Dan would also like to study abroad in Spain to study Spanish.
