Lisa Louise Rhodes
Lisa Louise Rhodes received her Ph.D. in American studies from the University of Texas, Austin; she is also an Associate Faculty Member at National University in La Jolla, CA. Her work Groupies, Girls, and Chicks: Female Musicians, Writers, and Fans, 1965-1975 is slated for publication in 2004 by University of Pennsylvania Press. Rhodes released Lisa Rhodes: Shivers in 1986 on Spindletop/Rounder Records, and The Neville Brothers recorded one of her songs for their 1994 album Live on Planet Earth.

Lisa Rhodes, Ph.D. is a Phi Kappa Phi graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she received both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in American Studies. She is a member of the faculty at National University in La Jolla, where she teaches courses in history, film, and multicultural studies. A former professional musician who worked out of Austin, Texas, Lisa has donated her musical services to such non-profit causes as The Diversionary Theater, The Girls and Boys Clubs of San Diego, and the Campaign to Elect Christine Kehoe to Congress. Lisa has resided in San Diego County since 1996.
