    Robert J. Rhodebeck, 85, of 7695 Morrow C.R. 97, died Sunday (Feb. 22, 1998) at Morrow County Hospital.He had been a patient at MCH Extended Care for two years.

    He was born June 16, 1912, to Charles and Artha (Graham) Rhodebeck at North Woobury, and lived most of his life in the Woodbury-Johnsville area.

    On June 15, 1946, he was married to Doris Henthorn, who survives.He was a 1931 graduate of Johnsville High School, and was a retired farmer and livestock trucker.

    Mr. Rhodebeck served from 1948 to 1965 as Perry Township Clerk, served 15 years on the Morrow County Board of Education, beginning in 1950, and served three terms as a Morrow County commissioner, from 1965 to 1976.

    He entertained audiences for many years, playing banjo and fiddle for local square dances and variety shows in many musical groups, including the Melody Five.

    Mr. Rhodebeck was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, North Woodbury.He was a member of the I.O.O.F, and past Noble Grand of the Johnsville Lodge; the Chester Lodge, F. & A. M.; Columbus Valley Scottish Rite; Aladdin Shrine; Royal Jesters; and Picador banjo unit.

    In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Gennie, of Westerville, Daniel and Janet of Johnsville, and James and Pamela of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Abigail, Jeffrey, Levi, Kent, Michael, Matthew, and Zachary Rhodebeck; and his brother, Gerard Rhodebeck of Mount Gilead.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lorene Rhodebeck; and an infant grandaughter, Erin Rhodebeck.

    Calling hours and Masonic services were at Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mount Gilead, where funeral services were held, the Rev. William Kerrick officiating, with burial in Shauck Cemetery, Johnsville.
