    David Reitman, an 18-year industry veteran, has been named to a vice president post at Switch and Data (NASDAQ: SDXC) where he will work with online gaming companies and other digital media to design, develop and deploy infrastructure services to support their growth.Reitman most recently was with AT&T (NYSE: T) where he managed the company's digital media and online game services efforts.

    One of the fastest growing segments in online gaming is MMOGs, which utilize sophisticated equipment and high-power servers that have a high demand for power, cooling and bandwidth.Switch and Data officials said they hope to offer their Peering and Internet Exchange system to help those companies support their technology needs.

    At AT&T, Reitman and his team supported the world's largest MMOG, World of Warcraft - which lists more than 8.5 million subscribers - as well as other MMOG and digital content sites.

    "The infrastructure needs of the leaders in the content and entertainment industries - from power and cooling to network connectivity and bandwidth - are huge," Reitman said in a release.
