Switch and Data has appointed David Reitman, an 18-year industry veteran who was previously with AT&T, as vice president to develop and lead the practice.
Switch and Data's state of the art facilities provide high power (AC and DC), cooling, and the PAIX peering fabric, combined with a broad geographic footprint, to meet the unique needs of these market segments.
Mr. Reitman joins Switch and Data from AT&T where he led AT&T's Digital Media & Online Game Services efforts.
In his role as vice president of Switch and Data's Content and Entertainment Practice, he is responsible for developing the solutions and features that cater to the needs of this market.

"David is well known throughout this industry and we're very excited to have someone with his level of expertise lead this new practice."
One of the fastest growing areas in this industry is online gaming, particularly the massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) segment.
The sophisticated equipment and high-power servers that run these businesses have very demanding requirements for power, cooling and bandwidth.
Switch and Data's PAIX peering exchange which scales to 10 GigE port speeds and high power density in excess of 200 watts per square foot are ideally suited to support these businesses.
While at AT&T, Mr. Reitman and his team supported the largest MMOG in the world, as well as numerous other MMOG and digital content sites globally.
"The infrastructure needs of the leaders in the content and entertainment industries - from power and cooling to network connectivity and bandwidth - are huge," said Reitman.
