Sam joined The Forbes Funds as Program Officer in January 2007.Prior to joining the Funds, Sam served as a Senior Consultant in Deloitte Consulting's Public Sector Practice in Harrisburg, PA. Prior to Deloitte, Sam worked as an Associate for The Forbes Funds while attending graduate school at Carnegie Mellon University.In May 2004, Sam completed a joint degree program between Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz School of Public Policy and Tepper School of Business, receiving his MS in Public Policy and Management with a Minor in Business Administration.Sam received his BA in Science, Technology and Public Policy from Franklin and Marshall College, located in Lancaster, PA in May 2002.Sam serves on the Board of Directors for Communities In Schools-Pittsburgh; a chapter of the largest high-school dropout prevention organization in the country.Sam is also a member of Grantmakers for Effective Organization's Advisory Panel on "The Money," which is exploring the utilization of foundation operating grants.In addition, Sam is actively involved in researching the role of foundations in funding Green Development initiatives in the nonprofit sector, and served as a panel speaker on this topic at the Urban Land Institute's Fall 2007 Conference.Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife Sandra, their 22-month old daughter, Isabella and attending Washington Redskins games with his Mom.
