Diane Pape Reed, a 16-year veteran of the CU movement and an award-winning marketer and credit union trainer, has been named the Virginia League's 2002 Professional of the Year.

Reed is Vice President of Administration at Arlington Virginia FCU where she oversees the marketing, human resources, training, and business development functions of the organization.

"I love credit unions," said Diane."We should be proud of the work we do for our members and our communities."

Reed has served as a featured presenter for both the Virginia and D.C. Leagues in the areas of marketing, development of a sales/service culture, and training.

She continues to contribute to her credit union's growth with innovative training and service programs designed to help staff excel in member service.

She also remains active in a number of community organizations and has been active in many community service projects in Northern Virginia.

Reed has also earned the Credit Union Executive Society's marketing designation.

Arlington VA FCU has also benefitted from Reed's diverse background, which includes marketing, accounting, computer science, sociology, and training.

According to Diane Reed, vice president of administration at Arlington Virginia FCU, the credit union recognizes the importance of reaching out to the Hispanic population."As a true community-chartered credit union, it is our goal to become the premiere financial services partner for the entire Arlington area," she said.

The Spanish e-Lert program has been well received by members and growth is expected to continue through a Website promotion, as well as word of mouth among the community."Our Spanish-speaking members are always excited about any products or services we offer in Spanish," said Reed.
