Katie Reagan, Research Associate Katie Reagan joined Social Compact in May of 2006 after serving as a technology and economic development consultant for the City of New Orleans.During her tenure with the City of New Orleans Katie oversaw the implementation of several new technologies, including GIS and other data-driven software, as tools for economic and workforce development.Katie also served as a liaison between the city and community organizations, small business development centers, nonprofit agencies, and other economic development agencies in the city's efforts to develop a holistic approach to economic development.Katie studied Latin American Studies at Tulane University where she researced the effects of economic development and tourism on low income populations in the Caribbean.She has specialized in the retrieval of non-traditional data and its application as economic indicators and has presented her research to professional organizations, including the International Latin American Studies Association.
