   Recognition by her peers as a Georgia Teacher of the Year, Runner-up, and Georgia Reading Teacher of the Year are only a few of the numerous awards she has received. The breadth of her professional affiliations ranges from serving as President of the Georgia Council of the International Reading Association, to being a charter member of the Board of Examiners trained by the Professional Standards Commission, to being a graduate of the 1997 Superintendents Professional Development Program. She has been a presenter at local, state and national conferences, as well.
