Jim attended Indiana State University on a baseball scholarship and graduated in May, 1991.He began his career with a Big 5 firm in Indianapolis, working primarily in the audit function, specializing in government and healthcare industries.Jim served as a finance manager for a private firm managing funeral homes and cemeteries until it was sold and relocated.Jim spent the next two years as Director of Finance in the Methodist Medical Group in Indianapolis before moving "back home" to Fort Wayne.Jim served as controller for a large family practice group and as practice administrator / consultant before joining Mannia Green in December, 2000.
Some of Jim's highlights include developing financial models for monitoring and managing capitation risk and identifying and correcting a flawed compensation model that had previously allowed losses in excess of $ 0.5 million.Jim also managed the extraction of a small primary care group from a large healthcare network, negotiating the buyers' terms and setting up the practice.
Jim was recently accepted into the American Academy of Medical Practice Analysts (AAMPA) and will attend their fall course to become a certified medical practice analyst.This will give our clients access to one of the country's most powerful medical practice analytical tools.The program provides fee and reimbursement analysis, procedure code compliance analysis, correct coding policy edit analysis, relative value scale analysis, and four-year Medicare transitional revenue analysis.
Jim and his wife Rhonda have two daughters, Megan and Rylie.Megan will be attending kindergarten in the fall and is very active with her church youth group, T-ball, gymnastics, and swimming.Rylie will begin gymnastics in the fall and is active in swimming.Jim and Rhonda love all sports and play golf and softball.Jim is a fervent Indianapolis Colts fan, only lacking the royal blue wig and face paint from his fall Sunday attire.Jim coaches Meg's T-ball team and has serves as treasurer for his neighborhood association.
