Pastor Erma graduated from Statesboro High School, Statesboro, Ga.She received an Associate of science degree in Fashion Merchandising from Dekalb College in 1980,

Pastor Erma joined the New Bethel AME Church, Lithonia, Georgia in September 1979.Dedicated her life to Jesus Christ in September 1982, received her call to preach in November 1987, and received her license to preach May 1988.After five years of ministerial training in the AME church she received her elders ordination June 13, 1993.
Pastor Erma was an Associate pastor of New Bethel AME Church 7 years.She was the director of The Commission on Membership and Evangelism the last two years.She was involved in numerous community and church activities.
She was appointed pastor of Fairfield African Methodist Church, Douglasville, Georgia, May 26, 1996 to May 1997.
June 1997 to June 2001 she was the pastor of Jones Chapel AME Church, Sylvester, Ga.There she was on the board of examiners of South-Georgia annual conference, a member of the Worth County branch NAACP, a board member of the United Way of Southwest Georgia and a board member of the Worth County Adult Literacy program.
Currently as of August 5, 2001, she is the pastor of Bethel AME Church, Dalton, Georgia.She has hit the city of Dalton running with the vision.She is on the board of examiners of North-Atlanta conference, a member of Concerned Clergy of Greater Whitfield County, a member of SCLC, the Whitfield County branch of the NAACP, the Woman Community Club, and a volunteer for Judicial Citizen Review Panel (working with foster children).
Pastor Erma has committed her life to doing God's work, God's way because she firmly believes that "Only what's done for Christ will last."
