JAMES Y. RAYIS is a Partner in Balch & Bingham's Atlanta office.He joined the firm in September of 2000.Jim's practice focuses on international business and corporate law and heading the international legal group of the firm.He brings to Balch & Bingham seventeen years of international, corporate and immigration law and management experience in both law firm and in-house corporate environments.

Mr. Rayis worked with Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy in its international practice group before joining Omnivest International, a Taipei-based venture capital holding and financial corporation in Denver, Colorado, as Vice President and General Counsel.Most recently he was Of Counsel at the telecommunications law firm of Gerry, Friend & Sapronov, LLP, where his focus remained in international, corporate and immigration law.

Mr. Rayis is International Legal Counsel to the Assyrian Universal Alliance and a member of the board of First Tuesday Atlanta, a technology entrepreneur/venture capital matchmaking orginzation.James is fluent in Aramaic (Assyrian) and French.
