   Dr. James Ray:
   
   Dr. Ray joined the San Antonio Animal Hospital team in December 2004. He was born in Chicago Illinois, graduated from Naples High School in 1976, then went on to earn his Bachelors degree in Biology in 1980 from Eckerd College, Dr Ray graduated College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Florida in 1985. After graduating from college he practiced in the Tampa area treating dogs and cats from 1985 - 1998. He Co-owned a feline exclusive hospital from 1991 - 2004, he practiced there from 1998-2004. Dr Ray has also served as a surgeon under the staff veterinarian for Big Cat Rescue (formerly Wildlife on easy Street), a non-profit big cat sanctuary in Odessa, Florida.
   
   God has blessed him with two of the best daughters in the entire world, ages 15 and 17.
   
   Until recently, he was a parent to eight horses, three dogs and three cats. Currently he shares a home with a stray cat named "Emma." Emma is a black medium hair "Hemingway" cat that constantly wants to be fed.
   
   Some of Dr. Ray's hobbies include motorcycle riding, bicycling, canoeing, camping, and fresh water fishing. He also likes to work with wood.
   
   He loves to work with the animals and their owners, and he loves to do surgery. He says he was blessed that he stumbled into Veterinary Medicine at the age of 18. Veterinary medicine has always been enjoyable.
   
   Dr. Ray is not one to sleep in late, and he loves eating breakfast out. His favorite season of the year is Fall.
