Mr. Ray was a graduate of Waynesburg College, and often referred to as the "favorite son" of Greene County Republicans.Ray was a Waynesburg attorney who was former Chairman of the Greene County Republican Committee and a member of the 51st Congress (1889-1891).Among his other positions and accomplishments were: Waynesburg College Board of Trustees, President of the Waynesburg Building & Loan Association, founding member of the Greene County Historical Society (November 16, 1925).
