Annie RawlingsAnnie Rawlings has been the Director of the Bertram M. Beck Institute on Religion and Poverty at Fordham University since September 1999.The Beck Institute is a multi-faith organization whose mission is to serve as an education and information resource to religious leaders and congregations for faith-based engagement on public and private social policies that will reduce poverty in the United States.Annie is the former Executive Director of A Partnership of Faith in New York City - an organization of prominent Catholic, Jewish, Muslim and Protestant clergy - where she designed and produced events for New York City clergy and laity on a variety of issues, including public education, the police, and the disappearing middle class.Annie is an elder at Jan Hus Presbyterian Church in Manhattan where she is co-chair of the Global Concerns committee.With other church members she traveled to Haiti in 2001; and in 2000 participated in a political camp on globalization at the Agape Ecumenical Center in Northern Italy.The Global Concerns Committee is currently leading the formation of the East Side Haiti Solidarity Network, a consortium of churches working together on education and advocacy projects relative to Haiti.Annie received her Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
