Amy earned her B.A. in Psychology at the University of San Diego and her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology at San Diego State University.Prior to graduate school, Amy worked as an in-home behavioral therapist for the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (C.A.R.D.) where she was trained in and implemented Discrete Trial (DT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Also, while receiving her B.A., Amy volunteered at Children's Hospital in the Speech, Language, and Hearing Department where she aided the speech-language pathologists in early intervention groups for children with special needs and typical peers.Her interests include autism, language delays, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), social language groups, Down Syndrome, and phonological processing disorders.
