CLEARFIELD -- Our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Albert (Bert) Francis Rawlings, age 89, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah.
Bert was born June 6, 1912 in Birmingham, England, the son of Albert and Florence Rawlings, and reared and educated in Clearfield.He married Ruth Van Sweden, June 19, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and lived most of his life in Clearfield.He was an active member of the Clearfield 4th Ward.
Bert enjoyed gardening and traveling and he was a hard worker.He was Foreman and Superintendent at Smith Canning Company in Clearfield, Truck driver for King Trucking in Kaysville, Wood"s Cross Canning, Smith Trucking and Maintenance Manager for ZCMI"s in Ogden.Bert and his wife, Ruth, also operated a floral shop in their home in Clearfield for six years.
Bert is survived by his daughters, Carol (Will) Crites, Walnut Creek, California; Charlene (Duane) Hamblin, Kaysville; Judy (Ernest) Jones, Sylvia, North Carolina; sons, Donald (Norene) Rawlings, fielding, Utah; Kenneth (Sharlene) Rawlings, Bountiful; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving is one sister, Lavora Hodson, Clearfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruth, and his great granddaughter, Saibrynn Hamblin.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for all the years of love and support and care rendered to our father by his son-in-law, Duane Hamblin.Also, the family appreciates the loving service of the staff at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001 at Lindquist"s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, where friends and family may call Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.
