  I sat in church at Rivertown Church and listened to the words from Pastor David Rathel and I believe it was God using him to talk to me. Since January, Pastor David mentioned I ought to try out the Celebrate Recovery program on Friday Nights at the church and I did.

  On the opposite side of the room theology major David Rathel calmly awaited the cue to begin the ceremony.He has long felt at home at BCF even before his studies began in 2000 with mother Angie the college's director of financial aid and father Mark a member of the faculty.
  
  The arrangement might have been stressful for some with both parents so close, but David says he was used to it.
  
  Graduation was a family affair for the Rathel family of Westville, with both parents employed by BCF.Pictured from left is mom Angie, son David, and father Mark.David, pastor of Westville Baptist Church, received a BA degree in Theology with summa cum laude honors.
  
  "Dad was always the pastor at our church," he explains."So it was kind of the same."The fact that David seems to have his father's knack for scholarly study, graduating with summa cum laude honors, likely made the arrangement easier.
