Ray was lead singer and composer for "Saoco."He recorded 4 CDs with them and performed in Panama, Colombia, Martinique, Costa Rica, etc. At the time Ray was with the Ralph Mercado Management.After recording their fourth CD, Ray decided to start his own band and formed "La Charanga Sensual."Ray always wanted to have a full brass section and chose to leave the Charanga sound and start a band with four trumpets.So he formed the "Ray Ramos Orchestra."Ray recorded seven CDs with his Orchestra and has performed all over the United States.In 1997, Ray recorded in Los Angeles, California with a band called "La Amistad."One of the tunes which he wrote and sang "La Receta" became very popular – it was featured in the movie "Dance with me" and "Ivory Tower" also on TV shows such as "Moesha," "Love Boat", "Buddy Faro", "Vibes", etc.Ray decided to record "La Receta" in New York and use the best musicians in the business.Ray also hired Jon Fausty as musical engineer to give it a more unique and creative sound.

The tune did very well in Europe and Ray was soon contracted to perform in London, England.He is also recording a new CD in Europe with "Chocolate" the best salsa band in England, led by Colombian pianist Jose Volga.The band has four trombones and a great rhythm section.This year Ray was in California performing at the L.A. Festival, The San Juan Festival, The Colombian Festival, The Conga Room, The Grand, La Rumba at Universal, Club Pasion, etc. In New York you can catch Ray performing in The Copa Cabana, Wild Palm, The Maganette, etc.Ray is a member of ASCAP and his publisher is Peer Music.His compositions are played all over the world.Ray will soon be recording a new CD in New York - featuring arrangements by Humberto Ramirez, Lucho Cueto, Isidro Infante, Sergio George, Tommy Villarini, Ricky Gonzales and others.

Ray Ramos is a singer, composer, producer, bandleader and recording artist.He was born and raised in New York City.His career began when he recorded with the Conjunto Saoco Band for Salsoul records.The group was well known for their Hot Cuban rhythms.He recorded four LPs with Salsoul Records and performed all over the East Coast, touring Panama, Colombia, Martinique and Costa Rica.

Ray started his own band, La Charanga Sensual.Believing that a brass section would enhance his music, he added four trumpets and formed the Ray Ramos Orchestra.Since that time, he has recorded seven CDs with the orchestra.

In 1997, Ray recorded in Los Angeles, California, as a guest artist with Johnny Polanco and Conjunto Amistad.

Ray is currently recording a new Salsa CD with original and classical tunes.He has recently performed at great venues in California, as well as the Los Angeles Festival, the Colombian Festival, the Golden Eagle Awards and the Latin Film Festival.He has performed in San Diego, Reno and Las Vegas and since Ray was born in New York, he has performed at all of the Salsa Clubs in New York City and New York State.

Ray is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.His compositions are aired all over the world.He is a producer and has produced two CDs with Luis "Perico" Ortiz and another with Isidro Infante.He recently finished a production for Morrowland Records staring Angelo, an actor and singer from Los Angeles, California.Two songs composed by Ray on this CD, "Besame" and "Cosas De Novelas" were featured in King of Queens on CBS.

When asked, Ray will tell you that he is doing what he loves, considers it very important to present a professional and well arranged performance, and will always strive to create and produce beautiful music.
