This time they're also coming to gear up for the denomination's plan to start 1,000 churches in the next 10 years, many of which should be Hispanic or focused on another ethnicity, according to Ramos.Right now three of the 35 area churches are Hispanic - Iglesia Cristiana, a church in Lubbock and one in Borger - and they have plans to start another in Plainview.
The Saturday worship service also will feature graduation of six students from Iglesia Cristiana's Hispanic Bible Institute, a two-year program for people who can't attend a seminary but would like to go into ministry.The Borger and Lubbock churches were started by students who graduated from its first class.
"It's going to make the Anglo churches in this area conscious of the growth and potential of the Hispanic churches," Ramos said.
