Local medical practitioner, Dr Jan Radford, will be guest speaker for the next lecture in the Royal Society of Tasmania Northern Branchs 2005 Lecture Series next Monday 4 July 2005 at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery at Inveresk.
Dr Radford will speak on the Launceston Clinical School: an update on current University of Tasmania medical education.

Background information
Dr Jan Radford received her medical degree from the University of Tasmania in 1981.After spending time at the Royal Canberra Hospital and the Bundaberg Base Hospital, she joined the Riverside, Trevallyn and Legana Medical Group as a General Practitioner/Partner in 1986.
In 1992 Dr Radford was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and has worked with the College in education ever since.As a Senior Lecturer with RACGP she has delivered vocational training to registrars in General Practice, and since 2002 has held the same position with the University of Tasmanias School of Medicine at the Launceston Clinical School.
Dr Radford gained a Masters of Psychological Medicine in 2001 and has a clinical and educational interest in encouraging whole patient care and the prevention of mental illness.
