Obituary: Pat Quinn
It is with deep sadness that we advise of the passing of Pat Quinn, in the early morning of Thursday, November 29th, 2007 in Palm Springs with his wife, Heidi, by his side.
Pat was an integral part of the senior management team of CENTURY 21 Canada until 2005 when he took a medical leave of absence.
As Vice President, Franchise Services, Pat made an invaluable contribution to the company leading the services team in the coordination and development of all franchise services in support of the more than 400 offices and 7000 CENTURY 21 System members across Canada.
Pat came to CENTURY 21 Canada in 1994 with a wealth of experience in sales, marketing and management in real estate and other areas.
He had served as Branch Manager for two national real estate firms, as Manager for corporate real estate relocation services in Western Canada and as Director of Franchise Sales with another national franchisor, in addition to experience in non-real estate activities which included sales, management and consulting.
In all of his business dealings, Pat built strong friendships and established a reputation for being an excellent colleague who made valuable contributions which advanced the company and brought an optimistic outlook to work every day.
His colleagues at CENTURY 21 Canada will miss his trademark ear-to-ear grin, crackling laugh and lively spirit.
His brilliantly positive attitude prolonged his life significantly and allowed for the fulfillment of many of his goals and other adventurous pursuits.
This included traveling to the beaches of Thailand in 2004 where he and Heidi witnessed the Boxing Day Asian Tsunami.
He also purchased a Harley Davidson and toured the BC interior and US West Coast extensively with his wife.
Pat was initially diagnosed with cancer almost five years ago.
We are grateful that the short window of just a few months that he was given as a diagnosis extended so wonderfully; deservedly befitting a man who leaves behind an audience of friends who will miss him but glow in his memory.
He touched us all with his strength and courage.
