Virginia Beach - Mack C. Queen, 79, went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2003.He was born July 22, 1923 in Cramerton, NC and was a 1941 graduate of Belmont High School.He received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in 1947.He was a charter member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #20, and International Association of Machinists and Aero Space Workers Local Lodge #39.He was President for six years of the Virginia State Council of Machinists and a past president of the Lakeview Park Civic League.He worked for twenty years at the Norfolk Naval Air Rework Facility and then worked for the Machinists Union as a Grand Lodge Representative until his retirement.Until his stroke he was an active member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church, a charter member of the Home Builders Class and an Elder.He was predeceased by his parents Will and Minnie Queen of Belmont, NC and a brother John Queen.
A loving husband, father, bother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he leaves many behind that will cherish his memory.Mary A. Barber Queen, wife of 53 years; 2 sons Thomas I. Queen and his wife Kathy of Windsor, VA and M. Charles Queen, Jr. and his wife Mary of Shenandoah, VA; daughter Patricia L. Mastrolia and her husband Mike of Winston Salem, NC; 2 brothers, Wayne Queen and his wife Betty and Warren Queen of Belmont, NC; 5 sisters, Gladys Doby and her husband Lawrence, Maxine Ellington and her husband Jack, Shirley Ferguson and her husband Ray, Betty Faye Willis and her husband Ben, and Hazel Wright all of Belmont, NC; 9 grandchildren, Mary Eovino and her husband Mike, Thomas Queen Jr. and his fiancée Sarah Hughes, William DeCora and his wife Barbara, Jennifer DeCora, Christian Queen and his wife Kelly, David Queen, Matthew Queen, Bonnie Queen, and Angela Q. Harter; 2 great grandchildren Mackenlee DeCora and Lucia Eovino.
