Diana Quast, William Kress, Cindy Winter and Gabriel De Jesus are vying for the seats currently held by Trustees Shandi Speller and Miki Weiss - who aren't seeking re-election.

Quast, 44, wasn't at the Editorial Board meeting but, in a subsequent telephone interview, said the district was making strides to close the achievement gap.
Quast, who ran unsuccessfully for the board last year, said she'd like to see if there was some way to reduce the rising health care costs facing the district.
"I think that the federal government and the state have to come up with some type of plan to help not only school districts. ... Municipalities have the same types of issues," said Quast, a deputy town clerk for Yorktown.
Quast also said the district should aim to cut back on "top-heavy" administration and instead put teachers in the classrooms.
"That will definitely reduce costs," she said.
