  Mr. Quarté has been with the Firm since 1980.He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants for which he serves as President-elect and a board member for the Suffolk Chapter.He has also acted as chairman of the Emerging Technologies/Management of an Accounting Practice Committee and is a past chairman of its Real Estate and Construction Contractor Committee for the Suffolk Chapter.In addition, Mr. Quarté serves on the Peer Review Committee and the SEC Practice Committee for New York State and is a team member of peer reviews for the AICPA.
  
  Mr. Quarté works on a variety of accounting and auditing engagements including the retail, manufacturing, construction contractor, real estate and distribution industries.He provides management advisory services to clients including financial projections, business valuations, establishing accounting systems & controls, estate planning, and ERISA audits.
  
  Mr. Quarté holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University and publishes articles for financial and local publications.He is an active member in various civic and charitable organizations, including Long Island Cares and Our Lady of Consolation.

  The President introduced and yielded the floor to Bob Quarte of Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck and Co., P.C. (AVZ).Mr. Quarte appeared at this Board meeting to give the Board the report of the independent auditors, AVZ, and to respond to any questions the Board might have on its findings during the annual audit.

  Robert T. Quarte, partner at Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck & Co. in Hauppauge, and Suffolk County chapter president, said one way to keep women in accounting for the long term is to allow them to work part-time flexible schedules.
  
  Though none of Albrecht Viggiano's 12 partners are women, Quarte said that all 10 of their part-time accountants are female.
  
  "To make partner, you have to stay here full-time for 13 to 15 years," Quarte said."We'd love to have a female partner.But often they decide to stop working full-time because of their family.It's not to tend to their dogs."
  
  So Quarte holds on to his female talent by giving them the option of working a staggered schedule.
