Gene Quandt has been with Tower Engineering Corporation since 2002, serving as a Tower Analysis Engineer.He possesses over 15 years of engineering experience.He has performed structural analyses of broadcast and communication towers, including tower structural and fatigue analyses; dynamics analyses, and wind load calculations.His project responsibilities include field engineering roles, tower climbs and observations, and support for tower installation projects.Mr. Quandt has also developed engineering applications, including design/analysis automation tools using MS Visual Basic.
Some examples of his recent experience includes his role serving as the Field Engineer for the maintenance, repair and construction on a new spiral and spiral repair project for the United States Coast Guard in Kodiak, Alaska.Additionally, he served as a field Engineer responsible for the maintenance of the USCG LORAN C antennas and towers located in Tok, Alaska.The LORAN C sight is comprised of four 700 ft. towers supporting a large antenna curtain.The towers were undergoing periodic maintenance.Mr. Quandt was responsible for preparing the calculations of the structural deflections and surveying the support towers before and after retensioning the tower guy wires.He was also responsible for the preparation of the comprehensive report provided to the Coast Guard, which documented the performed maintenance.
He is also responsible for preparing tower engineering reports for our clients, which involves a comprehensive written documentation of the site and current conditions on the tower.
