Bob Quade, associate professor of business, director of life learning and MBA recruitment coordinator at Centenary says the average age of students enrolled in the MBA program is between 26 and 35, roughly the norm at all other institutions."These are students who have been out in the workforce and, after hitting a glass ceiling, realize they need an MBA to move on," he says.

"We did not want to get into debt and it would have been imprudent for us to carry on trading," said chairman Robert Quade this week.

The club had only a handful of people using its premises off Court Street compared with a membership of around 600 at its peak.

Many of the members heard the bombshell news at a bingo night on Sunday last.

"Like many other clubs we were just not getting the customers," said Mr Quade.

The other recipient was Robert Quade, chairman of the business department at Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J.
