Pyatt, a retired financial manager with General Motors, said the board spent a lot of time during the past months educating the candidates.

"They've done a good job of giving us a running start," Pyatt said."I feel prepared."

Williams, owner of the Inn at Bella Vista, said he was excited about being elected.

Pyatt spent the last 20 years of his 40-year career with General Motors as a chief financial officer.He said his background fits Bella Vista's scenario.He believes the two-tiered assessment must be approved and implemented and the POA must stop the financial drain in the Food and Beverage division.In addition, the POA should operate within the budget and work to continue enhancing facilities.

Friday's forum was the third for this year's candidates.

Pyatt, who worked in financial management for General Motors Corp., said he didn't think candidates should take a position on incorporation and noted he could see arguments for and against the idea.

He said he wanted to see the village retain its excellent qualities.

"I think it's a jewel of a community," he said.

He cited the need to balance the budget and mentioned his experience in planning and budgeting among his qualifications.
