    Twenty eight year-old Nadine Pryce, a lecturer in Agriculture and Environmental Studies at the Knox Community College, has been crowned National Farm Queen 2003.

    Miss Pryce, who represented the parish of Manchester, is a graduate of the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE), with an Associate degree in General Agriculture.She is also a graduate of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy, and is now pursuing a diploma in Education at Church Teachers' College.

    "I'm looking forward to working with the Ministry of Agriculture and the JAS to promote programmes that can attract young persons to agriculture…programmes such as the youth internship programme.I'm also happy that this particular programme will be channeled through the 4-H Clubs and as a 4-H leader, I'm excited about being a part of that process that will help to stimulate the interest of more young persons in agriculture," she said.

    The new queen has received a trip to any United States or Caribbean destination, courtesy of Air Jamaica; day passes to Holiday Inn Sunspree resort; a watch from American Jewellers; a cellular phone from Digicel; a gift certificate from Jencare Skin Farms, and a gift basket from Soft Sheen.

    Second place went to Melsa English, an eighteen year-old who represented St. Ann.She is currently pursuing an Associate degree in General Agriculture at CASE, and should graduate in November.

    She has received a weekend for two at the Renaissance Jamaica Grande; a manicure and pedicure from Jencare; and a gift basket from Soft Sheen.

    Miss St. Mary, Heneka Watkis, a 25 year-old student at the University of the West Indies who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, placed third.
