Scott Pruitt was in Ponca City this morning campaigning for the post of lieutenant governor, currently held by Mary Fallin.

Pruitt was elected to the State Senate in 1998, representing District 37, and currently is assistant leader of the Republican caucus.He is the general managing partner of the Oklahoma RedHawks' baseball club in Oklahoma City.
Pruitt, 37, graduated from Georgetown College, Ky., with a Bachelor of Arts in political science/communications and a jurist doctorate from Tulsa University.He is a counsel with the Tulsa firm of Latham, Stall, Wagner, Steele & Lehmam.
He was the Republican whip, 2000-2002; assistant republican floor leader, 2002, to the present.
Pruitt was first elected to the Oklahoma State Senate over a 16-year incumbent.Pruitt was the lead spokesperson for worker compensation reform and has championed lawsuit reform, a common-sense tax system, greater accountability for government spending and traditional, faith-based values.
Pruitt talked at length here about changing education with more control being given at the local level.He said the Keating administration had been based on bold ideas and the present administration is focused on smaller ideas.
He expressed the opinion that the Oklahoma legislature has not done enough to aid businesses.
Sounding the same opinion as Todd Hiett, one of his Republican primary opponents, Pruitt predicted the lieutenant governor will be in a position to cast tie breaking votes in key legislation.
