Samory Pruitt was named vice president for community affairs in August.

Pruitt said he would work with the multicultural task force to find out which programs and activities UA students need. Then, he has to find out which location or locations meet those needs, he said.
"If you identify programs that are housed in a multicultural center, it may be possible to implement those programs in existing facilities," he said.
He said he wants to keep the focus on the programs that a multicultural center offers rather than on a single facility.Multicultural programs involve events like Black Heritage Month and sponsor speakers from diverse backgrounds.
The task force has not met this semester, but Pruitt said they would meet during the first week of February.
