A serial entrepreneur, Michael is chairman and chief executive officer of FanBox where he is responsible for charting and implementing the company's overall strategy.
Prior to establishing FanBox, Michael founded and was president of SMS.ac, a position he held since 2000.There, he succeeded in building a company that became the largest mobile community in the world.Prior to SMS.ac, Michael founded CollegeClub.com in 1993, ultimately becoming the largest youth-oriented portal on the Internet.In his role as chairman and chief executive officer of the company, he led it from inception to its filing for an IPO in early 2000.CollegeClub.com was acquired later that year.
Michael also served as co-founder and chief executive officer of Productivity Solutions Corporation, a client/server transactional software company that he led from concept in 1991 to its acquisition by Unisys Corporation in 1993.In 1987, in his final year in computer engineering at the University of California at San Diego, Michael founded Higher Educational Resources, Inc.The software company developed search engine technology, helping students receive financial aid.There, at age 22, Michael employed 170 people and his company became the first to successfully commercialize Internet search for scholarship information.
