Ric started climbing as a teenager in 1980, and since then has climbed and mountaineered all over the world, extensively in the Alps, other areas of Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and has made first ascents in the Andes and the Himalayas.Ric has worked as professional mountain guide and climbing instructor since 1991, has been a UIAGM Guide since 2002 and an MIC holder since 1994.

Llanberis Guides partner Ric Potter is a qualified IGFMA mountain guide providing courses and guiding in all Alpine actvities: skiing, ski-touring, off-piste skiing, ice-climbing and Alpine climbing.

Ric started climbing in 1980, and moved to North Wales in 1988, inspired by the vibrant Welsh climbing scene.Since then he has climbed in many areas of the world and his experiences range from enjoying the delights of rock climbing on crags all over Britain to making first ascents in the Himalayas and the Andes.Since 1991 Ric has worked as an instructor for Plas y Brenin and Glenmore Lodge in Scotland, as a trek leader and expedition guide in Africa, Asia and South America and as self employed mountain guide in the UK and in the Alps.He's a qualified IFMGA Mountain Guide, Mountaineering Instructor (MIC) and a qualified teacher (PGCE).

Ric has worked as professional mountain guide and climbing instructor since 1991.His professional guiding experience ranges from instructing at the National Mountain Centres in the UK to high altitude guiding.He has been a UIAGM Guide since 2002 and an MIC holder since 1994.

As well as running RPM Guiding, Ric is a co-director of Llanberis Guides Ltd www.llanberisguides.com, a North Wales based guiding agency.
