Professional Summary Prior to joining Johnson and Bell, Mr. Potter primarily represented plaintiffs the first five years of his practice.In the following five years, Mr. Potter defended the City of Chicago and its employees, including paramedics, doctors, firefighters, police officers and sanitation workers.Mr. Potter engages in an active civil trial practice, having successfully tried multiple jury trials, including wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases.While with the City of Chicago, Mr. Potter worked on several high profile cases which were reported in the news, including: Miguel Diaz v. City of Chicago where Finance Committee Chairman Edward Burke reported to the Chicago Suntimes that the taxpayers got off with a "major savings;" Annie Beauford v. City of Chicago where a bus shelter blew over on the Plaintiff, severely injuring her; and Jackson v. City of Chicago where an allegedly intoxicated fire truck driver ran over and killed a motorcyclist.
