  Dr. Potter joined the faculty at McMaster University in January 2006.He is one of the founding members of the Masters of Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation program at McMaster University which teaches engineering and science students to create technology based businesses.As a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering, he teaches polymer science which is also the focus of his research program.From 1996 to 2005, Potter served as Manager of the Advanced Technologies Group for ShawCor Ltd.His team was responsible for the assessment of emerging technologies, many of which were polymer based.Prior to ShawCor, Dr. Potter served as a Technology Development Manager with Tremco Ltd., a subsidiary of B.F. Goodrich.He currently serves as Chair of the Conference Board of Canada's Innovation Council and has been an active participant in this council since its inception.Dr. Potter earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Waterloo.
