David Potter was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and received his BFA in photography from Marylhurst University in Lake Oswego, Oregon.In the early 1980's he was an exhibition committee member at Blue Sky Gallery and from 1987 - 2000 he was the chief preparator/exhibition designer for the Portland Art Museum.In 2000 he launched his own design business, Studio Dave Inc.Since that time, he has worked on a variety of projects that range from graphic, web and interactive design, to exhibition design and photography.David Potter's photographs have been exhibited at Blue Sky Gallery, the Portland Art Museum and other galleries throughout Portland and Oregon.His photographs are included in many private and corporate collections including the Portland Art Museum.His freelance work has appeared in such magazines and newspapers as Plazm, LA Magazine, Artnews, The Oregonian, Reflex, Artweek, The Downtowner and Willamette Week to name a few.David Potter began participating in the Portland Grid Project in 2000.
