Jord Poster
After his initial involvement as Co-founder of priceline.com, Mr. Poster worked with the company under the title SVP Strategic Planning for two years through the IPO.In this capacity, he helped shape the original business vision and strategic direction of the company.Also responsible for original market research and assessment, and communications development, Mr. Poster conceived of and was responsible for, the company's highly successful advertising and branding campaign starring William Shatner, which he continues to manage as a consultant to the company.
Prior to priceline, Mr. Poster spent four years as Co-Founder and President of the American Express VIP Subscription Service at the company Synapse Inc. (a $300MM revenue/yr marketing company).Working with the internal venture arm of American Express, Mr. Poster was responsible for all aspects of the launch and development of the business including competitve strategy and business development; financial management and contract negotiation; research and planning; marketing and promotion; as well as operations and fulfillment design and implementation.Mr. Poster carried the additional responsibility of Division President, Strategic Account Relationships.
Previously, Mr. Poster had worked in the field of strategy consulting, advertising, and market research founding Marketplace Inc., in 1985, which sold in 1991 to Hill Holliday, Connors, Cosmopolous, Inc. (a subsidiary of the Interpublic Group of Cos., Inc.NYSE IPG), where Mr.Poster remained until 1995 as President of the acquired unit and Senior Vice President of the parent company.Mr. Poster developed a strong background in consulting and advertising strategy leading the teams providing services to various Fortune 500 companies including American Express, Anheuser Busch, Chase Manhattan Bank, John Hancock Financial Services, Johnson & Johnson, Hyatt Hotels, MCI Communications, Mellville units Marshalls and Kay•Bee Toys and Viacom International.
