Poster is a research chemist in the Organic Chemical Metrology Group within the Analytical Chemistry Division of the Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.Dr. Poster's research involves the design and application of analytical methods for low-level chemical measurements in complex media with a focus on developing, maintaining, advancing, and enabling the chemical measurement system for the nation and U.S. Industry.Dr. Poster's trace measurement research is largely applied to the certification of chemical constituents in natural-matrix Standard Reference Materials including environmental matrices, biological tissue and fluids, and industrial media such as oils and particles.Dr. Poster's recent efforts include the application of analytical methods to the physical and chemical characterization of nanomaterials and the development of nanoscale reference materials for use in the chemical, biological, environmental, and biomedical fields.Dr. Poster received the Chemical Science and Technology Technical Achievement Award in 2003.Dr. Poster is the Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Director, an editorial board member for the journal Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds, and is the secretary for the International Society of Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds.Dr. Poster is the U.S. Department of Commerce member and Vice-Chair of the U.S. EPA Interagency Testing Committee and works closely with the National Nanotechnology Initiative's National Nanotechnology Coordination Office via service on the Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology Subcommittee Working Group on Nanotechnology Environmental and Health Implications.
