Jim Post asked me to notify folks as to the new site addy, and that alone. I checked the old site and came to my own conclusions.
In today's world, there are those who put their butts on the line, for others, and those who watch you, wait for you to turn your head, then take what you have. There are also, "friends" who sit and watch what you do, volunteer to help you get the job done, then decide they can do it better. The disaster with ADRA comes to mind, and the death blow they dealt our Midwest racing scene, by pulling the plug on the original Heartland Hot Rod Reunion.Jim Post, founder of Front Engine Dragsters of America, is one of the best guys you would ever meet.I have known him for years, and call him friend.Alone, he founded the organization, put on the Slingshot Nationals, starting at one of my home tracks, at Ozark, Mo. then moving on to the track at Cordova, Illinois. He has put out a newsletter to keep fans and owners, updated on each others efforts, and FEDA's efforts. In the last couple of years, he tried to build a team, to take the group, into the next level of growth. To accomplish this, he found one guy to work specifically on building FEDA membership, another to work on the FEDA web site. Now, visitors to the fedaonline.org web site, are being redirected to a new site, where two gentlemen have built their own effort. This isn't the first time new efforts have been started on the backs of original efforts, nor will it be the last.It still stinks.Jim Post is neither a computer whiz, nor a webmaster, but, in order to continue with the FEDA effort, that has stood the test of time, he has put up a new, simple website, on his own. Please note the difference in the address, as he felt rather than fighting about the other web site, which apparently is owned by someone other than FEDA, he would build another one.It will take more than this, to force Jim Post to give up his dream ... he has withstood personal loss, tragedy, financial setbacks, and still the Slingshot Nationals go on.
