Marcie Porter, a former diplomat, international broadcast writer and public affairs officer, is a communications consultant for CommCore Consulting Group.Her specialty is communications training for multi-national and multi-lingual audiences.

Marcie uses her years of experience in media relations and broadcast journalism to design and deliver workshops on presentation skills, briefing techniques, and interpersonal communications to clients in government, the private sector and the not-for-profit world.Her clients include Boeing North America, American Red Cross, Office of Naval Intelligence and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Trained as a linguist, Marcie is fluent in French, Italian, Turkish, and Russian.Marcie was an Escort Interpreter for the State Department's International Visitor Program and served as the Press Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul in addition to living and working in the former Soviet Union and France.She also served as the Deputy Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Rome.

Marcie has a Graduate Diploma in French Interpretation and Translation from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an M.F.A. in Writing from the University of Maryland, and a B.A. cum laude in French Literature with a minor in Russian from Willamette University.
