    On Wednesday night, Lynnette Porter will discuss "The Lost Women: Diversity on Television."

    Porter, an associate professor of communication and humanities at the school, plans to discuss the female characters on the ABC series "Lost" during a lecture in the Miller Instructional Center Auditorium.

    In particular, she will explain how Kate, Sun, Claire, Shannon and Ana-Lucia are not only intriguing characters, but enrich TV's portrayals of 21st century women.

    Porter has written six books, including "Unlocking the Meanings of Lost: An Unauthorized Guide," soon to be published by Sourcebooks.
