Porter promoted to controller at Katahdin Trust Company

(3/10/06) - Katahdin Trust Company Vice President, Treasurer & CFO, Matt Nightingale has announced the promotion of Joseph M. Porter to Controller.

In his new position, Porter will continue to be responsible for the preparation and analysis of various financial statements and management and regulatory reporting, while assuming more responsibility of the accounting function and other duties.

Joseph M. PorterPorter has nearly ten years experience in the accounting field.He began working for Katahdin Trust Company as the bank's Accountant in February 2005.Previously, he has worked at the Opportunity Housing Incorporated in Bangor as Accountant, Bangor Savings Bank as Financial Technician, Maine Revenue Services in Houlton as Tax Examiner and the Green Valley Association in Island Falls as Financial Manager.

An Island Falls native, Porter attended Southern Aroostook High School and obtained his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.He is currently pursuing his Masters in Business from Husson College in Bangor.Porter and his wife Misty reside in Smyrna with their two sons, Payton and Nolan.
