Leah Polin

The facilitator of LACH is Leah Polin, Education Vice-President of Hadassah Chicago Chapter and a life member of Hadassah. Polin was the Executive Director of the Dawn Schuman Institute for Jewish Education for 23 years and has been an adult Jewish educator for most of her life.

Leah PolinLeah is the Executive Director of the Dawn R. Schuman Institute for Jewish Learning.She holds a B.A. in Education from Roosevelt University, a M.A. in Education from Northwestern University and a teaching certificate from the College of Jewish Studies, now Spertus College.In addition to teaching middle school in the public school system, she has lectured for the Truman College Outreach Program, the Hadassah Adult Education Program and the Senior Adult Program for the Open University of Temple Sholom.

Leah is a Board Member of the Associated Talmud Torahs, an active member and past Board member of the Chicago Chapter of Hadassah and has served on the boards of the Ida Crown Jewish Academy, the Hillel Torah North Suburban Day School and the Yeshiva Women of the Hebrew Theological College.She has also chaired events for Congregation Or Torah of Skokie and Congregation Ezras Israel Sisterhood.

Leah has 4 children and 12 grandchildren.
