Bonnie Sanders Polin, PhD Bonnie Sanders Polin, PhD is the co-author of the Joslin Diabetes Gourmet Cookbook, winner of the James Beard Cookbook Award and a nominee for the Julia Child Cookbook Award. A retired psychologist specializing in children and adults with chronic diseases, Bonnie is co-founder of a diabetes clinic for the working poor at Project Get Together. She's also a frequent speaker for the American Diabetes Association and Interim Healthcare on issues of health care and nutrition for people with diabetes. She serves as a member of the board of directors for the American Diabetes Association, Children's Services Leadership Board, Dillon International, Interim Health Care, and Project Get Together. She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1982.
