Kirsten N. Poe is a partner with Noelle-Elaine Media Consultants.Ms. Poe began her career at Manhattan Cable ( now Time-Warner Cable ) , New York , where she was hired directly out of college as the youngest member of the marketing team.While there , she analyzed sales and marketing campaigns for the company and planned marketing strategies for field and retail sales departments.In a bold move , Ms. Poe left the security of a paying job in.cable to accept an internship with WNBC-TV , to break into local television.Her insight and fortitude paid off , as she caught the attention of the station's General Manager , who hired her into the local programming department.For the next five years , she worked in the program operation and sales administration departments learning the intricacies of local television.
Before co-founding NEMC , she served as media relations manager for CNBC , where she was in charge of handling all press-related activities for the then 50 million subscribers-network.Within her two-and-one-half years with the network , Ms. Poe received two promotions.
Ms. Poe , a 1987 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Finalist , production member on the 1988 Ceba Award-winning program Positively Black and a 1991 Walter Kaitz Fellow , has consulted on various film and music video projects and frequently serves as a guest lecturer.

Ms. Poe was an early graduate of Syracuse University's prestigious Newhouse school of Public Communications ( B.S. ) with a degree in Television , Radio and Film Management and a concentration in Psychology as well as a Magna Cum Laude graduate of New York University ( M.A. ) , where she received her degree in Media Studies.
Ms. Poe is an avid supporter of education.She frequently lectures at Syracuse University , is a New York City School Volunteer and has been a peer tutor and part of Literacy Volunteers.Ms. Poe has been a member of the Starlight Foundation's Publicity Committee and was co-publicity chair for their annual sports auction.She is a member of Who's Who of Top Executives , as well as the National Association of Black Journalist and the National Association for Female Executives.She enjoys jogging , writing and reading.Other interests include : sign language , tutoring and motivation speaking.Ms. Poe is a native New Yorker and currently resides in New York City.
