Javier Plummer, 29, was the paramedic.He finished he Vance-Granville program, which consisted of more than 1,100 hours of instruction, in June 2001.Previously, Plummer had completed a 292-hour EMT intermediate program at VGCC.He has been with the fire department 8 1/2 years.A 1996 graduate of Northern Vance High School, Plummer earned a bachelor of science degree with a minor in chemistry from North Carolina Central University in 2000.
