"The weather is cold," said Barry Playford, Store Director of the West Pierson Rd. store in Flint."Our customers need to know right away that the kerosene they have purchased from us is a clean, high quality product."
For nearly 24 hours, Meijer customers have been confused by conflicting stories about various fuels purchased from the store.
"It got out of hand very quickly," said Playford."We are just pleased that no one has been hurt and our customers can go back to business as usual. At this point, we'll leave it up to the fire department to continue their investigation into the original story."
On Thursday a Flint woman contacted the Mt. Morris Fire Department claiming the Kerosene she purchased from the store had caused a fire in her heater. The fuel she used allegedly "smelled funny," and it was assumed the fuel was contaminated.
