Hi, my name is Andrew Playford and I am the founder of Signature Days.

The extra bit of creativity ensures that those who receive the gifts will remember the events for a long time," said Signature Days founder and CEO Andrew Playford.
The idea isn't new.Playford picked it up from similar catalog and phone-in companies in the United Kingdom.
"I wanted to make the process streamlined by using technology, and incorporate experiences in several cities," said Playford, 38, who has put an initial $500,000 of his own money into the venture.

Playford, who grew up in Zimbabwe, moved to Chicago two years ago after cutting his teeth on the dot-com heyday in New York City and Silicon Valley.
Playford left New York for the U.K., but discovered that the climate was harsh for startups. He returned to the United States, to Silicon Valley, in 2002 and helped launch Cometa Networks, which started rolling out thousands of Wi-Fi hot spots.
Cometa, despite backing from AT&T, Intel and IBM, and investors Apax Partners and 3i, shut down a year ago because the company wasn't gaining subscribers fast enough to keep it viable.
Playford figured out that he wanted to start his business without venture capital, at least in the beginning.
"I wanted to do this my way -- slowly and methodically, and to create an organic business that I could run for a long time," rather than having venture investors pushing to sell it quickly, he said.
Playford has incurred no debt in setting up the business, and he hopes to break even by mid-2006.
He also has set up a team of trusted advisers, including Heidi Messer, LinkShare's co-founder and president; Robin Murray, managing director at 3i Capital, and Ted Schell, former Cometa chairman and a managing director at Liberty Associated Partners.
Playford likes his chances in Chicago."It's not so easy to get lost," he said.
Rick Summer, an analyst at Morningstar, said Playford might face a big expense in attracting enough users to make the site profitable.
