The St. Xavier's and Ryan Group of Schools (XRIGS) is successfully led by its dynamic and visionary Founder-Chairman, Dr. A. F. Pinto.Under his leadership, success has become a habit for the Group of schools.

Making learning a life-long love affair is Dr. Pinto's objective at the 80 exceptional schools he heads. The responsibility of imparting quality education to 2,00,000 students in 14 states, through 8,000 trained teachers, is indeed awesome. But no task is too small for this educationist of extraordinary calibre, who served as the millennium Sheriff of Mumbai in 2000.

Born in Mangalore on August 28, 1944, Dr. A.F. Pinto arrived in Mumbai in the early 70's after completing early education in Mangalore and later on at Loyola College, Madras.

Dr. Pinto introduced innovations in the learning process - Play-Way methods of teaching for children up to the Primary Section, Computer Literacy Classes from Standard I as early as 1986, He reduced bulging schoolbags and the pressures of homework and exams while encourageing an open, interactive and collaborative environment in the classroom. It was he who introduced education through the lens. through opportunities for in-house film-making and the launch of Ryan TV at Ryan international School, Malad.

He spearheaded and hosted innovative events at the National and International level; The first Indian Model United Nations at Delhi in 2001 and the First International Children's Theatre Festival 2002 in Mumbai. These have become annual events, drawing participation from a large number of schools both in India and abroad.
